NEW FOR 2012:
- USB connector added to SE sedan model
Having been redesigned for 2011, the Honda Accord continues into 2012 almost unchanged. A USB connector is added to the base SE sedan, making the feature standard in all models.
Available as a four-door sedan or two-door coupe (the Accord Crosstour is covered in a separate section), the Accord comes with a choice of four-cylinder or V6 engines, with two variants of each. A 2.4-litre four-cylinder in the base SE sedan produces 177 horsepower, while the 2.4-litre in the EX and EX-L sedan and coupe models makes 190 horsepower. The SE uses a five-speed manual transmission that can be optioned to a five-speed automatic, while all other sedan models use the five-speed automatic. Four-cylinder coupes use the five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic.
An optional 3.5-litre V6 with five-speed automatic uses Variable Cylinder Management, which shuts off either two or three cylinders under light load for improved fuel economy. The V6 coupe can also be ordered with a six-speed manual transmission, and its 3.5-litre engine uses variable valve timing and intake system for sportier performance, without the cylinder management.
Features on the SE sedan include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system, heated mirrors, speed-sensing variable intermittent wipers, front splash guards, power locks with keyless entry, auto up/down driver’s window, cruise control, auto-off headlamps, illuminated vanity mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, eight-way power driver’s seat, floor mats, fold-down rear seat, premium six-CD/MP3/WMA stereo with subwoofer, auxiliary input, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, security system and automatic headlamps.
The EX sedan adds 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, power sunroof, chrome exhaust finisher, auto up/down front windows, Active Noise Cancellation, ambient console lighting, and rear cupholders.
The EX-L sedan adds exterior temperature display, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated leather seats, and power passenger seat. When further equipped with navigation, the model also includes a two-position driver’s side memory.
The EX V6 sedan is equipped similarly to the EX, but adds chrome door handles.
The EX-L V6 sedan is equipped similarly to the EX-L, but adds chrome door handles, fog lights, four-way power passenger seat, and garage door opener. The model can be further optioned to the EX-L V6 with Navigation.
Features on the EX coupe include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, active front head restraints, security system, tire pressure monitoring system, heated mirrors, front splash guards, power sunroof, speed-sensing variable intermittent wipers, rear cupholders, automatic headlamps, power locks with keyless entry, front auto up/down windows, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, eight-way power driver’s seat, floor mats, fold-down rear seatback, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, and six-CD/MP3/WMA stereo with auxiliary input, and security alarm.
The EX-L Navi coupe and EX-L Navi V6 coupe add 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, exterior temperature display, automatic headlamps, heated leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel chrome door handles, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters (with automatic transmission), navigation system and rear spoiler.
